S/V Unicorn Brig, 136ft lod, 22ft beam, 9ft draft.... Military Vehicles?

I'm 62 years old, My wife likes old things, lucky for me. I'm from Florida, USA. I Own a 1963 Mercedes Unimog 1-1/2t army truck, the most formidable 4wd vehicle ever. If you have ever marveled at the apparent ruggedness of a military vehicle, check out the links! You can buy a military vehicle for $2000 to $20,000. It will outlast a new vehicle and you can repair one MUCH easier.

So why the wooden ship picture?... After a career in the Air Force, I signed on to a square rigger as ship's carpenter. That's her in the photo. Beautiful, is is she not? Yeah, there's something to be said for old things.

The Mercedes

The Unimog "Pritche" (Troop Carrier). Her high portal axles articulate 42 degrees with respect to each other! She will ford over 3ft of water, more with modification. She weighs 6,300lbs. I paid $1.35 per pound for her. The top comes off, the sides fold down and the sides come off. I have three trucks in one. Believe it or not, it will fit in a standard parking place! (A Mercury Town Car is
about 17" longer than the Mog.)

If you get excited by vehicles that look ugly but work hard and last long, visit the links below.
